Westside Cuts is our demo barbershop, set up in Next. Every screen on this page is real. How Westside Cuts runs its walk-ins
After work. Four barbers, eleven waiting.
They pick their cut and their barber.
The sign on the door or the counter has one QR code. Clients scan it with their camera, pick Fade, Beard Trim or Kids Cut, then pick Marcus, Andre, Luis, Devon or next available. Each choice shows its own wait.
Regulars get their barber. Walk-ins get whoever is free first. Nobody asks the room “who’s next for Mike?”

Everyone knows where they stand.
The smart pass shows their place and a real wait for that barber and that cut, and it updates on its own. Nobody has to come to the chair and ask how long.
They can stay in the shop with the kids or grab a coffee next door. When their barber is ready, the pass turns green and says so. It works the same in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, and in ten languages.
Each barber calls their own next client.
Nobody stands at the front managing a list. Clients sign themselves in. Calling the next one works the way your shop likes it: you or the front person call everyone, or each barber calls their own next client from their own device.
Barbers mark themselves Here, On break or Off, and the waits follow.

You see the whole shop from your pocket.
Who’s waiting for whom, how long, who’s cutting. Cuts per barber, average wait, walk-aways and your busiest hours, so you staff Saturdays right.
After the cut, clients rate the visit. You see stars and comments for each barber.
The money
Texting walk-ins costs too much. So we don’t.
A busy shop sees 100 walk-ins a day. A texting app sends each one about three texts. At 3¢ a text, 26 days a month, that’s the bill before the app’s own plan. Next sends no texts: the smart pass does that job, with nothing per message and no number to give.
a year, at 100 walk-ins a day
a year for everything. $0 in texts, ever.
A texting app’s published US price of 3¢ a text, October 2026.
Built for how barbershops work
Everything a barbershop needs. Nothing it doesn’t.
Each barber signs in on their own and handles their own clients. You still see every renter’s cuts and stars.
Say who does what. Only the barbers who do kids cuts show up for one.
Someone walks up without scanning? Add them with a tap and call their name out loud as always.
Your sign, your banner and your colors on every pass.
Each client sees the pass in their own language. Your shop’s words are translated too.
Name your shop, add your cuts and your barbers, print the sign. No tablet, no contract.
70% of barbershop clients walk in without an appointment at least sometimes, and half say waiting around is their biggest frustration (Zenoti). More small business statistics →
