Powder Peak Ski & Board is our demo rental shop, set up in Next. Every screen on this page is real. How Powder Peak Ski & Board runs its walk-ins
A powder morning. Five techs, every bench working.
They pick what they need.
The sign at the door has one QR code. Skiers scan it and pick Ski Rental, Snowboard Rental, Kids Package, Boot Fitting or Demo Skis. Each one shows its own real wait.
A family’s kids’ packages and a quick boot fit never share one guess, so your counter stops answering “how long?” at 8 a.m.

They grab breakfast.
The smart pass shows their place and a real wait, and it updates on its own. Skiers get coffee and breakfast or finish gearing up instead of standing in a crowded shop.
When a tech is ready, the pass turns green and says so. It works in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, and in ten languages for visitors from everywhere.
You tap Notify when a bench opens.
The counter sees everyone waiting, what they need and how long they’ve waited. Tap Notify and their pass calls them to a fitting bench. Tap Serving when the fitting starts and Done when they walk out with their gear.
Techs mark themselves Here, On break or Off, and the waits follow.

You see the whole season from your pocket.
Rentals per day, average wait, walk-aways and your busiest hours, so you staff powder mornings and holiday weeks right.
After the visit, skiers rate it. You see stars and comments for each tech.
The money
Texting walk-ins costs too much. So we don’t.
A busy rental shop sees 150 walk-ins on a weekend morning. A texting app sends each one about three texts. At 3¢ a text, 26 days a month, that’s the bill before the app’s own plan. Next sends no texts: the smart pass does that job, with nothing per message and no number to give.
a year, at 150 walk-ins a day
a year for everything. $0 in texts, ever.
A texting app’s published US price of 3¢ a text, October 2026.
Built for how rental shops work
Everything a rental shop needs. Nothing it doesn’t.
Everyone who walks in at 8 a.m. gets a place and a real wait, without a crowd at the counter.
Kids’ packages carry their own minutes, so parents know what to expect.
Each skier sees the pass in their own language, from Spanish and Japanese to German and French.
Visitors never type a number to join. The smart pass does the job a text used to.
Your sign, your banner and your colors on every pass.
Name your shop, add your rentals, print the sign. No tablet, no contract.
